{"id":57,"date":"2003-02-04T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2003-02-04T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.flamingspork.com\/blog\/?p=57"},"modified":"2003-02-04T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2003-02-04T05:00:00","slug":"busy-busy-busy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.flamingspork.com\/blog\/2003\/02\/04\/busy-busy-busy\/","title":{"rendered":"busy busy busy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>busy, busy busy.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s been my past month.<\/p>\n<p>linux.conf.au (yeap, that&#8217;s the website too) was great &#8211; and so were the parts of perth I saw.<\/p>\n<p>Such notable things happened as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Met a whole bunch of cool people\n<li>went down the pub\n<li>tried microbrew of KK&#8217;s\n<li>Had lunch with Linus\n<li>became Vice President of Linux Australia (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.linux.org.au\">www.linux.org.au<\/a>)\n<li>hacked some filesystem\/vfs code in the kernel (and actually did something remotely productive that i&#8217;ve got to send a patch in for)\n<li>admitted that all the productive stuff in the kernel i had done was just cleanups\n<li>discovered that melbourne water tastes better than perth water\n<li>saw fireworks on australia day\n<li>took a load of photos (which will get on the web soon)\n<\/ul>\n<p>been doing more documentation and examining of portability issues on Walnut as well. I&#8217;m desperately trying to resist the urge to say &#8220;let&#8217;s just rewrite the whole bloody thing&#8221;. There&#8217;s some code in there which needs some major reworking.<\/p>\n<p>As Rusty has known to have said: &#8220;Kernel Hackers Get The Babes&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He since revised this to: &#8220;Toolchain Hackers Get The Babes&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>(un)fortunately it looks like working on Walnut requires both.
