Prohibited behaviour

This type of appauling behavior is prohibited in the STRIP joint. Especially not in the fish bowl!

Please do not tap the glass (it disturbs the fish) and Welcome to the Monkey house, The Code Monkey House
That’s: “Please do not tap the glass (it disturbs the fish)” on the left, and “Welcome to the Monkey House, The Code Monkey House” on the right.

Perl Camels
The big camel is a perl program that prints the small camels. This is also not allowed.

The Committee for the removal of Fun and Humor has struck again.

  1. i think i might do that with my camera actually. the Tech services guys will love me for it (and that’s not sarcastic – it will be proving their point)

  2. That’s err.. strange, weird and lame. What on earth did sticking stuff on the windows do? Okay, so blu-tac marks have to be removed with window cleaner or something. They pay people to do that shit anyway, right?

You’re uni students. Stick up some signage on the glass explaining the situation. Did they give you notice in writing? if not, get it in writing, blow it up to A2 and stick it there…

Get a random student to get some pics of the machine room. A five megapixel camera isn’t hard to come by and those things can take photos with incredible clarity so you can read the 14″ DEC terminals and see who’s mailing who, who can su to root from what accounts and of course, material related to student marks.

As for the network, someone upgraded something they shouldn’t have. THe entire network fell over, no subnet can access any other. ITS staff worked all through the night, as in, from last night, all through the morning hours till now. They’re still working on it. I don’t know more details than that at this stage, I wouildn’t dare hassle anyone in ITS right now about it.
