Yahoo Mail sucks

What Yahoo Mail does to the In-Reply-To header appears to be random. Whatever it is, it’s random and broken.

Occationally it seems to do the right thing. No bloody sense to it though.

Usually it seems to put in some random integer.

Fun.

This is why some people’s mail goes missing.

Yahoo, you should know better. Shame.

  1. I’ve been using Yahoo Mail as my primary email account for almost 5 years, but I am finally about to dump it. It’s bad enough that it keeps asking for your password every few times you login. Now it asks you for your user name, password, and to enter random code from a graphical window. If they only made you do this once, then I could deal with it. Even once a month I could handle, but it’s like every 2nd friggin time I log on. They are driving me nuts!

Yahoo SUCKS in a BIG way now … and you can’t even talk to anyone. They make you go read 10 million FAQ’s, none of which have anything to do with your problem. Grr!
    :P

  2. I agree, it seems to take forever to pull up mail after logging in…..and the repeat requests for passwords is beyond annoying.

  3. Then it’s settled ;

Yahoo! Mail DOES suck! If ANYBODY wants a GMail account, e-mail me at yms@rogers.com.

I’d be more than happy to give you a GMail account invite.

  4. I have hit the refresh and automatically get a page to send an error code to Yahoo. I have done this 6 times in a few days. Yahoo keeps telling me it is fixed now. IT IS NOT!

Yahoo puts my own messages from ME in Spam folder. NOT COOL!

I figured out a fix for all this. GMAIL.com
works fine. Yahoo is dead as far as I am concerned. Won’t take long for everyone to figure out that I switched.

I can’t afford the time to keep opening blank emails that should have something in them.

    Gmail.com way better.

  5. yahoo mail in Germany really sucks , when you logout , you see the following ‘ vollständig abmelden ‘ which means ‘Completly logout’ and I beleive this is nothing more than Fucking the yahoo Client in a way or another , the aim of that I beleive is presenting more advertisments instead of allowing the client easily to see his next mail in yahoo, so he will
have to do more than one click in order to rerturn to yahoo mail and see the next yahoo mail ( in case he has more than one mail account which i beleive most people do ) , so it is only a play in someone’s nerves and a way of undercover fucking of the client.

  6. I’ve been using yahoo for a couple of months now and all I get is people complaining when sending attachments, the e-mail bounces and says account is temp. disabled. Happens all the time. Can still send and receive text e-mail. It’s fucking 2007 and they don’t support jpeg attachments?!?!
What a bunch of ‘tards yahoo admins must be….

  7. All of these problems I have not had a single one for my Yahoo mail. I don’t see any glitches, and on occasion once every 2 months, it can run slow. Yahoo mail to me is perfectly fine.

  8. yahoo mail is so fucking slow its unbelievable. And my computer is fast as is my internet connection. Its slow wherever i use it. Its complete unworkable. Id have to send days if i wanted to get all my photos off it. Beware dont use it. Its continually hangs when you need to get something done, and refreshing it doesnt help. I give up with it. At least hotmail wont freeze up every 2 minutes. you can get 1 think done with yahoo mail but then it will hang and tell you to come back in 10 minutes because they are having technical difficulties all the fucking time. Rant over, dont fucking use it.

  9. yahoo FUCKING SUCKS.
it wont let me log out and go into my other account, its stuck on my other one. When i click logout, it taks and hour and a half of waiting and then finally says, “The page cannot be displayed”
    yahoo, go fuck yourself.

  10. I copied the link, pasted it, and it does not correct. I input it from scratch and still it does not correct. All I get is sites like this one which tell me to input that same address, and how it worked for them. What can I do? I want the Classic format back, and nothing else will do.

  11. What’s with Yahoo Mail today???

When I try to to sign in I get the following:

    name: Type Error
    message: ‘gEXTContent” is undefined
    number: 2146823279
    description: ‘gExtContent’ is undefined

What the bloddy xxxx does that mean???

  12. But it’s worse than that, folks. In their zeal to stop spam Yahoo have come up with another brainiac idea. They could how many ‘account not found’ responses they get per sender IP. The idea being if too many message are being sent to non-existent Yahoo mail accounts then the messages are probably being generated by PC zombies running spam. Sounds good? That’s about as far as Yahoo thought through it. The catch comes when you realise they block an entire IP range when this happens. To make matters even more laughable: no one uses a static IP anymore. So when you boot your router you get an IP some other dimwit running Windows had. Where there might have been spam spewing out. No for the finale: 97% of all mail today is spam. This means almost every network – Comcast, Cox, Verizon, et al – has gobs of infected Windows PCs spewing out spam. And Yahoo just block these networks seemingly at random. We’ve even tried sending mail from our Yahoo account and back to the same account – it doesn’t get through! The first and most important principle of mail is that it must get through. Yahoo demonstrably today can come nowhere near to that goal. They lose mail all over the place. As such their mail service is today unequivocally worthless.

  13. Ever since they added involuntary chat and multiple high volume ads, its takes more time to log in then it does to cook a steak with a lighter. Yahoo indeed sucks big time. If it were not for them suckering ATT into a joint adventure against user program, I would be done with them.

  14. Moved my email from Yahoo because I often received more spam than legitimate mail. Being especially annoyed with the unbelievable amount of “phishing” emails that actually DO originate from Yahoo accounts, I started forwarding all of them to Yahoo admin (abuse …and phishing). So far I’ve caused the shutdown of a significant number of Yahoo based accounts.
My hope was that they would upgrade their security; thereby, reduce the abuse.
Well, Yahoo did act on the number of emails I was forwarding to them …finally!
The three “Yahoo” phishing emails I forwarded to Yahoo today were “bounced” In true “It’s easier to sweep problems under the carpet” fashion. Yahoo has stepped up its security and blocked my email address.

  15. I’m so mad at Yahoo, and no matter how many times I have complained about the same issue, it never gets fixed. No one else has mentioned this, but it has happened to me on Mac and PC with Safari, IE and Chrome. Here’s what it does:

I write a (usually long) email and click “send.” Then Yahoo in it’s infinite wisdom takes me to the login screen, effectively DELETING and NOT SENDING the email I just spend a long time writing! Hitting back doesn’t help, and when I log in, the email I wrote is just vaporized without a trace. It doesn’t matter that I click to stay logged in, or did when it was an option. It still makes me log in again about every 2 hours no matter what I do.

I have lost about 20 emails this way, and I am a very busy person and I HATE re-doing work. When I remember, I manually copy the email before I send it, but as soon as I let my guard down- bam- email vaporized. I have since opened a Gmail account that I just love. However, my business contacts reach me at Yahoo, so it’s going to be very hard to switch. I just can’t understand why Yahoo won’t at least save the email as a draft instead of just deleting it if it’s going to force me to log-in mid-send. They have since added an auto save feature, which sometimes saves about half of an email that was super long, but that is little consulation.

  16. Yahoo Fucken Hell, had to be rid of that shit, but still have one account that I need UNFORTUNATLEY It totally sucks now and gmail is so FAST
Can never open anything straight away.If your on Yahoo THROW IT NOW.If everyone gets out they might get the message.
